Just to add to the above - UK stainless ( https://www.ukstainless.co.uk/bolts-machine-screws/a2-bolts-machine-screws.html) is pretty good for most of the standard bolt sizes and better prices than most - but they lack bolts above m3x30 which is when kayfast is a good alternative.

Have you checked that you have them wired up correctly? The Octopus will shut itself down if you are causing a short between +3.3V and GND and the manual recommends not even installing the +3.3V wire though many of the premade wiring harnesses include it which could be causing your issue.

For both of you: the board doesn't have a hardware pullup on gpio21 - so you need to list it as "pin: ^EBBCan:gpio21" in the config You can also move it to gpio22 (still need the pullup ^ setting) - on my board the gpio21 pin was borked
