What issues are you having with QGL? Is it an inconsistent bed mesh, one quadrant is clearly low/ high... You never mention what print defects are actually occurring that make you suspect an error in the QGL process.
To be honest I've never had the best experience with raw PEI from known "good" brands like Energetic, LDO, Fulament etc... I've always had to use some form of bed adhesive with ABS and beyond. Used to use Magigoo, currently I'm really happy with Vision Miner nano polymer. I dilute it by half...
