Confirmed. Adaptive Meshing can screw up the Z-calibration, so make sure to calibrate Z after meshing. I sent a small job to the printer, and the first layer went down perfectly.

My START_PRINT had both CALIBRATE_Z (from protoloft/klipper_z_calibration) and BED_MESH_CALIBRATE ADAPTIVE=1, but in reverse order. I swapped those around so that z-calibration comes after adaptive meshing, and I expect to have the same success as @BeepDog. I'll share an update after I get a...
