I don't think that will work, at least the AB motor mounts have fairly strict requirements on the length of the screws. You can grind down longer screws or modify all the parts that uses 35mm, but both are tedious.
I bought the Picobilical after a wire on the extruder motor broke. It's been working pretty good although the wires do rub on the back of the tophat when the toolhead goes to the back of the print area. Personally I think the umbilical is easier to fix than directly wiring the components even if...
The diagram on that page shows the fan blowing up towards the electronics on the back, and I do agree with that since hot air rises naturally, so the fan can give the natural airflow a boost instead of working against it.
