Question Help with stepper wiring

I am having a devil of a time fixing my extruder wiring.
I need some general knowledge about stepper wiring.
I refer to:

Lets call coil A-black/C-Orange 51 and lets call coil B-Red-D-Blue 52 because that is what the pins on my Khart PCB are called.
Q1. If I were to use the correct coil pairings and connect them in any order to the main board, would the stepper still function correctly (albeit maybe in reverse which is easily changed in software)?
Q2. If I get the coil pairing correct but connect the two wires of the coil in any order to the main board, would the stepper still function correctly (albeit maybe in reverse which is easily changed in software)?

Basically, what orders matter and what orders do not?

According to this:

Once you have identified the coils, just wire it up and see if it turns in reverse, if so, you can swap the wires of ONE coil around to make it turn correctly.
