Newbie starting a Trident build

Hello,

I just received my Formbot Trident 300 kit.
Still in shock with the amount of parts and screws, it's going to be challenging, to say the least.

So far, I have put together the frame. It looks squared with the set square.
The diagonals also check but tape measuring is not super precise in itself. I should use metal bar or a rod and place a mark myself.

I am printing my own pieces with my AD5M in ASA. I am almost done, just 3 plates away.
I followed recommendations and only got 3 pieces with minor defects so far.

All in all, very happy.

Regards,

Luis

Just take it one step at a time. Before you know it you'll have a printer sitting there where there was just a hug, intimidating pile of parts. ;)
Squaring the frame with a tape measure is good enough. As long as it's within a mm you're good. On the Trident, the extrusions to be as precise as possible are the cross pieces on the sides where the gantry rides. That is critical, and you want to get it as precise as you possibly can--take some extra time there up front. You want the spacing between those and the bottom extrusions to be as close to parallel as you can get it. This is because that determines the relative spacing between the bed and the gantry as it moves.
