Recent Switchwire build not booting.

I recently finished the first stage of my Switchwire build, it is (was) functional, but not enclosed yet. All was working fine, about 100 hrs, and I was dialing in the settings. I had let the printer sit for a while, maybe 2 weeks, powered on. I went to print something and it was not responsive. I powered it down and tried to restart it, and it would not boot up. It is running a BTT Manta M5P board with a CB1. I also have a CB2 that will eventually go into the build, and that board boots up fine in the printer. I think the file system on the sdcard for the CB1 might have been corrupted. Is there anyway to recover this sdcard? Anyway to verify that it is actually the sdcard? I was able to read the card on an Ubantu laptop, both the Boot partition and the other partition. So , is it really the SD card?

Any way to preserve the printer settings and history, and use a new sdcard?

It may be the SD card. I just went through a generally similar struggle. My original SD card seems to have failed enough that the printer wouldn't come all the way up (Klipper booted, but the printer never connected properly). I ended up flashing a new SD card and all is well.

To preserve your settings, look in /home/pi/printer_data/config for all your .cfg files. For the printer history look in /home/pi/printer_data/database for the couple of database files. Copy those to the new SD card and you're back to where you were for that part of it.

Keep in mind any extra stuff you may have installed needs to be reinstalled. Things like led_effects, KAMP, etc.

OK, a fresh image for the CB1, and it boots up just fine.

Now to restore all the settings.....

If I just copy over the file system from the bad card to the new card? And make sure the config files in the boot portion of the sdcard are the same, will that work?

Also, is there anyway to determine what image I initially burned onto the sdcard

Just do a fresh install, then copy the files from the locations I mentioned before. From there you should be back up and running.
