Hey,

I recently got a new printer and made a mistake. When I brought it home, I adjusted the belt tension screws, which I probably shouldn’t have done. Now, I’m trying to find a guide to get the printer running again and properly tuned.

The printer was purchased pre-assembled from someone in my local area, with everything already installed. I used a guitar tuner app to measure the absolute belt tension.

I’m following the Shake&Tune documentation, but when I run the commands, it show errors, and does not generate an image report.

I asked for help in the Shake&Tune channel on Discord, and the response was:

"This is a current issue with Klipper and ShakeTune.
Klipper updated the resonance testing section, and Frix has been on vacation and hasn’t had an opportunity to update ShakeTune.
You can use the built-in Klipper testing suite or wait until Frix fixes ShakeTune."
I’ve tried asking further questions, but the responses I get on Discord are very brief, and I’m struggling to understand them. I feel like I’m stuck in an endless rabbit hole of vague messages.

I’m completely new to this and would appreciate some guidance.

My Questions:

  1. Which tools in the Klipper testing suite should I use for this?
  2. Once I have the test results, what do I do with them?
I’m comfortable navigating Linux and using the terminal, so I can handle technical instructions.

Printer Info:

Printer: Voron Trident 300
Mods:

  • XOL toolhead
  • Canbus
  • Cartographer Probe v3 / ADXL345
  • BFI front idlers
  • Titanium backers for Voron Trident

Additional Question for Linux Users:

For those who use Linux, what’s your workflow for transferring files between the remote machine running Klipper and your main OS? Do you use "scp" tool or another method?

Sorry for the long post—I’m just really frustrated. It feels like Klipper’s documentation is designed to lead you from one rabbit hole to another. Every time I read a few lines, there’s a link to more documentation, and those links lead to even more links.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
