Solved I'm having A bit of trouble making my first layer consistent

I did have zero_reference_position defined :) Which was part of the frustration, because it *should've* worked perfectly :)

Solved I'm having A bit of trouble making my first layer consistent

Okay! So a bit of help and advice on the Voron Discord, and I made some changes based on their recommendations. TL: DR; - Do an adaptive bed mesh before starting each print (it's supported in klipper native now), put it in the PRINT_START macro - Do the AUTO_Z_CALIBRATE afterwards - Do the...

Solved I'm having A bit of trouble making my first layer consistent

I had thought so, but it's outside of Ellis' comfort range as mentioned in his troubleshooting guide, so I was hoping I could do better.

That doesn't happen with auto z calibration. That measures it every time to account for different nozzles or buildplates.

Solved I'm having A bit of trouble making my first layer consistent

I've got a v2.4 that is doing quite well, except that I always have to tune my first layer manually, and I shouldn't have to. I'm using Auto_z_calibration, and I've included thermal expansion measurement, so it should be smart about heating. It doesn't matter if it's warm or cold, however, even...

Galileo 2 vs Clockwork 2 vs Orbiter 2

I'm interested in this a bit, because I have an orbiter 2, and it's wonderful, but it's not quite as well integrated in the stealthburner setup as I'd like. I do have a canbus conversion in the works that will get me the ability to use the cool filament runout sensor it has, and maybe even the...

    Orbiter 2 Clockwork 2 Mods?

Maybe that depends on the vendor of the part cooling fan? I'm using a GSDTime fan, and it fit just fine. You could try sanding down the edges of the case a bit to see if it's catching on the stealthburner face, maybe it just needs to scoot in a bit more.

Solved I'm having a bed heating problem, in that it is "stair stepping" instead of heating smoothly

Right! That's what I thought too, and yet when I asked on the voron discord, I was informed by well-known members that that math is "old Math" it's in the voc_gchat, so you gotta have a voron, but I was told that the limitation is from "old, incorrect math" From @Sanity Agathion:

Solved I'm having a bed heating problem, in that it is "stair stepping" instead of heating smoothly

A successful PID tune of the bed when I set the power to 1.0. I never had this odd stair step in the past, but I can use a higher power level anyway, as that'll make everything warmer faster, and will help with the bedfans heating the chamber. I was informed on Discord that the old math that...

Solved I'm having a bed heating problem, in that it is "stair stepping" instead of heating smoothly

A suggestion was made to clear all the browser caches and reload the page. I have done this, but I don't think it has cleaned up the heating rate. Tried that again, and started the heating, and we got all weird, and actually LOST temperature at this point and then klipper panicked with not...

Solved I'm having a bed heating problem, in that it is "stair stepping" instead of heating smoothly

I have posted in the discord too, and I'll update this thread with whatever I learn there, so that this stays around, because I couldn't google things to get this figured out. Why would my heated bed be heating in "stair steps"? I have double and triple checked my bed thermistor connections...

    Orbiter 2 Clockwork 2 Mods?

I have not found one that works with the two part PCB. The orbiter sits a bit further forward, so it doesn't leave enough space.

    Orbiter 2 Clockwork 2 Mods?

To follow up on some things, I'm using the one from here: https://github.com/elcrni/Voron-Mods/tree/main/Orbiter_2.0_SB_CW2_Enclosed It works fine with a single piece toolhead PCB, but there isn't enough room between the extruder and the fan for the two part PCB, as the Orbiter 2 sits forward a...

Could you copy/paste the answer into here for future searching purposes? I'm sure someone else may run into the same problem! :D

    Orbiter 2 Clockwork 2 Mods?

I'm looking to mount my shiny new orbiter2 on a Stealthburner. I have also purchased their filament runout sensor, as it's pretty amazing in theory, so I was gonna give it a shot. I've only been able to find these 3 mods: - https://github.com/sneakytreesnake/StealthOrbiter -...
