Looking GOOD! it's quite a challenge to build one as I found out too. I went with sourcing my own bits and challenging mt CR10 to print the parts. The firmware and getting it to work was a bit of a pain! I went with the Octopus Max Ez with EBB36 CANBUS, Mandala Roseworks Kinematic bed nd...
I've been using the CR Touch, noisy as heck with my CR10 with a metal probe. Based on its speeds and Vorons performance, I would probably suggest the Kicky option too from what I have been seeing on YouTube. Little in the way of moving parts and with minimal probe movement too. My CR probe is OK...
It's certainly no small challenge to build but I admire your courage! I built a printer from scratch over 9 years ago. Needless to say you will learn FAR more while taking on this challenge. The end result will be a powerful and capable printer with an owner who knows and understands its true...
My son is at uni, still a little while before becoming a grandad I think. Congradulations on your newest grandson! :). I think I understand your need for creating something, Im over 50 and love working with this stuff, just check my instagram for RetroComputerCollector!.Hope your build goes...
I'm in envy :). Happy building! I'm still waiting for parts from around the world for my Voron 2.4 350. These printers look like true beasts and the ones to consider being the dream machines with having so much potential for modifications. Keep us updated!
One thing to note, based on my comments... I would say home CNC as well as 3D printing are now very much integrated together for the creative home user. These two, combined, can present many possibilites. It is far more affordable now, but it is still a learning curve as well as a challenge to...
Well, I've been into 3d printers for over 9 years. Building my first printer from complete scratch in the early days over 9 years ago. It was based on the Makerbot wooden frame type. I modified it to be larger than the original design (Its still in the garge for evidence!). This was a build...
I have also decided to build one but I'm still waiting for parts. Money is always the bottleneck :). I built a 3d printer over 9 years ago so it's not so scary. Lots of people out there to help. Best way to learn all about them and help with fault finding too. Enjoy!
