You've been very helpful for sure and you (along with your brother) already saved me from possible mistakes. You're right, I should have tried to focus more on the main topic, the policarbonate mod should have gone into its own dedicated thread: there are so many details that should be discussed...
You're right, there are so many details involved and I need to learn each one before I can understand how much of the speed capability really goes into print job. I always saw in this way:
"let try to make the printer the most possible performant through high spec components (UHF , hv motors...
Very interesting mod, but need to figure out if could be overkill. Based on the below table, ABS should be still good to print until PC (may be even CF-Nylon / CF-PC ??). I can't find any real usage for the last twos.
High-Performance Materials (High-Temp Build Required)
MaterialNozzle...
It appears to be that the toolhead is a very critical area, even on V-Core 4 machines, but I've not been able to understand if issues are user faults or not. So, I'm in doubt if I should fallback to the StealthBurner or leave the proprietary toolhead which, given that has been specifically...
And this is just one of the long list of things to take care about. There's much more under the hood. I was already aware about this from the beginning, but sometimes I tend to follow crazy ideas. I just needed to hear from someone "Don't do this!".
You're totally right and this is going to be my first printer. I just responded to @vinnycordeiro on that matter. Even if I build a stock one and learn how works the whole chain, building a second bigger one would be still a big risk with high chances of failure.
I understand and even RatRig V-Core 4 still uses 3030. I feel like 4040 is going to complicate things without any real benefit.
This one works on a stock voron without the dual layer extrusions you previously mentioned? They say at the cost of some Y-overtravel with the added no-protrusion...
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I gave a quick look at Public V-Core 3.1 BOM. The first thing I noticed is the presence of a Rapido V2 UHF hotend and TMC2209 stepper drivers only. So, an upgrade to 48v with related TMC5160 drivers is what I would do for sure. So, although the BOM list...
I'm discussing with vinnycordeiro about the printable space loss issue. Seems to be that such problem does not exist with monolith implementation. If I remember well your AWB is TinyShellScript. You may want to join the thread, may be our friend can help to solve your issue.
So, to make the printer "ready for AWB" I should build it with 2020 dual channel extrusions in case of a stock 350mm build or 4040 dual channel extrusions for anything bigger than 350mm (no idea why Ratrig uses 3030, structural strenght is much lower). Are you sure 2020 is enough to withstand...
Thanks for sharing the tips to solve the visible gaps!
Ok, here I must be sure I've understood everything well. Indifferently from the size of the printer, to preserve the printing space I need to build the printer with longer extrusions. How many mm more? Extrusion code (HFSB5-XXXX-XXXX) ? If...
Well, going with 3030 aluminum extrusions and 9mm belts to me seems another easy step. In my list of mods there is also the "5mm panels" mod I've been recommended here. I suppose this should help (or just overkill on 3030 extrusions?). Is there somewhere a comparison table between the difference...
Hello to all,
I'm currently evaluating the possibility to build a printer between 400mm and 500mm. Just to have an idea, I entered 400mm in the configurator and the returned BOM seemed pretty easy: the only difference with a 350mm one is the size of the frame components, rails, panels and...
There is an interesting discussion here. Apparentlly, although X1C hotend is still good, the flow is not even close to a Rapido HF (not UHF). So, the Rapido is the only choice when maximum performance is the main goal.
Yes, it will take time and trials before the printer will start to work as...
