It's just basic fish tank charcoal.

Thanks but I'm in UK. I have heard so many horror stories about damage caused by the wrong charcoal that I thought I should use the official stuff.

Well if you can get the details on what caused Damage you can find the stuff that does not. I am certain you can use Fish tank Charcoal but yeah, just research what is good/bad.

It's the acid washed stuff that's bad
