Thanks in advance for any help. I built my first 3D printer, a Voron 2.4 R2 and enjoyed the process, but I am having trouble getting the software completed. I flashed my MCU through SDCard and the firmware went from .bin to .cur as it is supposed to... but I cannot get any information through Mainsail serial tab or in SSH by requesting serial by-id or by-path. In Mainsail the serial tab is just blank and in SSH it says the path does not exist. For some additional info, I am using OCTO 1.1 board with STMF446, 2209 steppers, U2C board, and SB2209 Canboard, software was setup through Kiuah with Klipper, Moonraker, Katapult, Klipscreen. I hope you all have safe and happy holidays.
Cheers,

The two likely candidates would be
1. bad usb cable/connection (you did connect USB-C to the octopus, and USB-A at the pi end, right?)
2. bad firmware. Are you sure you used *exactly* the menuconfig shown in the voron docs?

Superhero status!

I tried 3 different cables yesterday on the MCU and one of them I had used to do data transfer on my phone (so I was "sure" that it was a good cable) and no joy. After reading your message I figured I might as well try some other cables... and instantly got a connection.
Occam strikes again with his dang razor, or cable in this case. Config set up was nearly trouble free and now working on getting the homing axis set up.

Bless you and yours. Thank you sincerely for your help.

Respectfully,
