Hi all,
I would like some help in making this happen. While gathering parts for my second 350mm 2.4 I came to a realisation I need a 500mm x3 size! Or even 600mm maybe (at least for the height..).
Here is the plan - as per title:
VORON 2.4 DOOMCUBE 500mm x3 (I just like the 2.4. Sorry no discussions about TRIDENT, RATRIG, etc...)
Plan to use the standard frame extrusion - MISUMI HFSB5-2020 + HFSR5-404020 for the 4 corners (unfortunately available only in clear anodized as far as I can see (poo emoji)). Possibly / likely horizontal sections from HFS5-4040 with just the gantry 2020…
AWD with all belts 9mm, NEMA 17 motors preferably (aluminium motor plates also for XY joint)
All rails MGN12H (single polycarb panels, prob 5mm thick, so the 12mm Y and Z rails should clear them if kept to the outside of the rounded corner 40 extrusion (still can go double panels in the outer half / 20mm of the 40 corner extrusion if really required.))
Help required with:
- AWD plate design for 9mm belts, XY joint for MGN12H rails + AB drive (DWG/DXF would be nice or help altering the aTinyShellScript or other plates for 9mm belts...(or just get the Funssor 4AWD All metal kit?))
- Possibly relocate the Y rails to the top of the extrusion (don’t really like the idea of them being on the inside on some other mods, maybe the X rail on top as well? (Maybe re-design RATRIG AWD setup for 2.4 gantry as their rail positions tick the boxes for above?)
- need to source a quality 500mm build plate (Europe) + PEI sheet (+ heater but suppose KEENOVO can make me custom size heater as they only list 500mm x 500mm standard on their website (or have the plate slightly bigger - RATRIG style, or just get the RATRIG plate (530x530) + machine for 2.4..??)
Anything else to consider?
Believe these would be my main issues for a start, rest should be reasonably “standard” VORON / DOOMCUBE. Prob will have all the electronics sitting on the top so I don’t have to flip this beast upside down too much should there be issues..
Think this is it for now... Might be a lot more once the idea leaves the drawing board...
