We had some V2.4 Updates

/sigh... Had intended to present the MODs in my V2.4 in this Post but can't be bothered resizing all the Pictures just to appease this Forum complaining about them being too large without providing any information whether it is a File Size or Image Size issue and what the maximum specs are so here's a link to a more user friendly Imgur Gallery.

A Video of my ReCore self-rewinding Spool Rewinders as it prints the new A/B-Drives used in the Build.

Video of the new Tool Head performing a Tool Head Filament Cut for a Material Change.

Cheers! 😁

I can't see the imager pics, they won't load on my work VPN but the video is cool. I LOVE the build, looks very modded and well thought out.

Impressive...
I toyed with adding a second hotend for dual color printing but after watching the videos, I believe I can do this with one hotend...
I have done this manually, now to automate the process...

Wonder how long each retract, cut, and feed would take, if fast enough, then major saving in money and complexity...

The Process:
  1. Pause print...
  2. Retract...
  3. Cut off the blob (ready for use next time)...
  4. Feed next filament...
  5. Purge (a little)...
  6. Resume print...
I would probably need to sense filament end position at both spool hot hotend (at the spool end to cut off the blob and hotend to ensure filament was extruding).
Could do this with code but mechanical methods are more accurate/repeatable/preferred. Mind you, the normal (large/wasteful) purge block is to flush the hotend but if you retract you don't need to purge more than a few millimeters, resulting in less waste and major time saving.

I was working on an active dry box with four filaments, now I need to add is a motor and some sensor :)

Just a note, a Revo hotend appears to lend itself to this automated process, it seems much easier to retract filament from the hotend, that might make the process easier (could be my imagination but it does seem easier)...
