2.4 induction probe height vs nozzle

Before I take apart the extruder, I thought I'd ask. At Z=0 I can slide a sheet of paper under the nozzle, QUERY_PROBE is open. I think the nozzle touches the bed at -0.3 but the probe is still open.

At -.4 the nozzle is pressing the bed and then the probe shows as triggered.

Think I need to pull apart the extruder and lower the probe a little.

Is that the correct next step or is it something I configured wrong? Doesn't seem right that the nozzle touches before the probe triggers no matter where zero is defined. During the quad level I shouldn't be hearing the probe hitting the bed.

Thanks!

By now you might have already done it, but yes, the probe itself needs to be lowered in the carriage. I ended with the same issue using a Revo hotend and Omron inductive probe. The inductive probe would trigger around 4-5mm above the surface, so I moved my probe to be no higher than 3mm above the nozzle.

Also learned klipper/klipper screen will let you punch the bed if you forget to change the distance to move and ask it to go to -20mm by accident.
