Manta M8P and CB1 or RP 4 and FYSETC Spider?

Brand new here and considering building a Trident. The Formbot kit I'm looking at getting includes the Manta M8P and CB1, but looking at the Voron assembly guide and parts list it uses a RP 4 and a Fysetc Spider board. I have a spare RP 4 4gb, would it be worth buying a Spider board for $60 and using those, over the included Manta/CB1? Would there be a notable difference in performance or usability (or ease of wiring?) etc that would justify the extra cost?
Thank you!

Fysetc boards have a bad reputation of being finicky and stopping working out of the blue, specially the Spider (don't ask me how I know that). I'd go with a RP4 and an Octopus board, also from BTT like the Manta. The CB1 single board computer have a reputation of not being able to handle Klipper very well (you could use a Compute Module from Raspberry Pi though). I also remember reading people having problems with Manta while others swears by it, so it's kinda of a mix opinion (one that I can't give my personal experience, so I'm only replicating what I have read).

tl;dr:
  • Spider boards are not reliable;
  • Manta boards are ok, but avoid CB1 (or CB2), use original Raspberry Pi CM4;
  • if you want to use a common RPi4 on your printer, get an Octopus board.

Thank you! Ordered the trident kit and the octopus board was on sale! Nervous, I have a lot to learn, but I'm excited!
