I have their spider and cheetah boards. I've not had any issue with either, but I wouldn't choose them if they didn't come with the fystec kits.
Only issues I've ever had with boards is when I messed them up myself. Except...one time I had a bad Manta that was quickly replaced. Not sure what the issue was on that board?
My only CB1 works well, but I'm going to change that board to remove the CB1 and replace it with a pi. I don't like the single USB you are relegated to by using the CB1.
I've used almost every board out there, and they are all pretty similar. Just go with something that has been around a bit, and you'll have fewer issues as there is more documentation.
I second the above rec: Octopus pro, pi5, usb/can extender...if using tons of mods.
Nothing wrong with CB1 and Manta M8P though...if you choose that route, just know that you'll be limited on addons unless you throw an extender on it, though you'll probably edge up against that no matter which board you choose, I did...several times. And the image is finicky, at times, from BTT...as is a lot of their stuff.
