Given that Voron is not a company, doesn't sell anything, and gives away everything that gets created, its hard to understand haters that do exist. It is just a bunch of people that love to design and build stuff.
I just use a jq6500 module and just play preloaded phrases through the trigger io on the module. startup is mario saying "lets a-go.", end_print triggers cheering, etc. Default beep is a duck quack. The grandkids love it.
For me the answer depends on your tolerance for being "down". Depending on availability in your part of the world, spare parts cost can be mitigated with quick availability. I tend to keep a spare motor, nozzles, fans, thermistors, heaters, bed temp fuse, pi, controller, step-ticks, and pei...
Ollie, What part of the world are you in? Perhaps we can find you a "build-buddy" that is close enough to help with the parts that present a challenge. This might be an opportunity for the Voron team to consider adding braille or other tactile marking to parts to assist the sight-challenged...
My personal experience is that super overtightening the belts causes the belts to be damaged in a way that prevents them from running true. Gates recommends 6 pounds of tension on gt2 belts... I had problems on my v0 belts "craweling out of the pulleys". Reducing the tension and replacing the...
Hmmm. The cleaning dust and dirt from the A/B drive was kind of a weird flag for me. At 30 hours your belts and pulleys should look pristine. Mine have more than 3000 hrs on them and still have no belt dust/crud on them. Double check you have it belted correctly on both sides. Many people...
@PickyBiker Just a quick note! Most bearings use the letter part of the identifier to denote what kind they are and the numbers indicate the size e.g. F695-RS indicates a flanged bearing with a rubber seal (RS)
Just a quick additional note... If you get an error like that, you can try the "recover" option. This will prompt you for hard or soft recovery. Soft, tries to only update the stuff that seems to be out of kilter and hard just reloads the whole software bundle from github.
If you connect the fan to 5V and Gnd it will run all the time. If you connect to 5V (vcc on the fan) and the gpio (gnd on the fan), then you can control the speed of the fan using PWM in the klpper configuration.
Here is my config setup for that fan:
[heater_fan hotend_fan]
pin: sb2040:gpio14...
Serial setup is a bit more finicky to setup and somewhat slower than USB, but other than that, either way works fine. Most people do USB beacause it is essentially plug and play.
Chris, yep I ran into that exact issue at about 3000 hrs on mine. So I jumped from the frying pan into the fire by going to CanBus and abandoning the cable chain. I have all the can issues worked out, but it looks like my CW2 has some pretty severe wear that I now need to address! I can't...
Sounds like you may have found your issue. For others who have this problem, it can also be the name of the parameters passed into the print_start macro. If your slicer automtically shoves heating commands in your gcode (eg Prusa Slicer) and you use temperatures in your print start macro that...
Motor wire colors are not consistent between vendors (and sometimes between a vendor's models). To find the right connections you can either use a multimeter to find the leads with continuity or short a couple of wires together (both methods please disconnect the motor from the printer). When...
