Hello, I looked into the ERCF awhile ago, and a filament runout sensor was required between the extruder and the hotend. I had heard that in a future update, the runout sensor wouldn’t be necessary anymore. Has this change occurred? I tried to briefly research it, but I did not come up with results. I really want to build an ERCF, but I’d rather not modify my toolhead, as I am happy with its compact size. (I am using custom canbus toolhead not voron design)

I am not sure, but I think it now rams the filament into the hotend and like sensor less homing measures the voltage difference in the stepper motor.
