Built my 300-300-300 Trident before the LDO kit came out. Used Logan Frasers stepper spacers to drop the z steppers below the deck. I used the ball-bearing trick in my couplers and made sure to leave the screws that attach the z-axis pieces to the leadscrew nuts.
Any z-artifacts from using couplers is minimal IMO. Once I get rid of "benchy hull line" type artifacts maybe it'll become more apparent but it's definitely not noticeable in my prints so far.
