Hi all,
I’m wiring an inductive proximity probe to an EBB36 v1.1 without MAX-31865 toolhead board on my Trident.
The sensor is an Omron TL‑Q5MC2‑Z (NPN, NC, 3‑wire, 10 to 30V supply).
My plan was:
Sensor brown (+V) +24V from the EBB36 Molex VIN (24V in)
Sensor blue (0V) GND on the BLTouch/Probe header (same ground as the probe input)
Sensor black (OUT) the “probe signal” pin on the BLTouch header (the same pin normally used for a BLTouch Z-probe)
Questions:
1) Is it OK to power the probe from the EBB36 VIN 24V and reference ground to the BLTouch/Probe GND like this (common ground)?
2) Is the EBB36 v1.1 probe input (BLTouch signal pin) 24V tolerant / conditioned for 24V probes, or is it a 3.3V MCU with a pull-up?
3) Do I need to add a Schottky diode (BAT85) in series with the probe signal when using this NPN NC sensor, or should it be wired directly?
Any guidance (or a link to the correct EBB36 v1.1 pin protection / schematic info) would be appreciated.
Thanks!
