machine stood for a while

So the machine stood for an extended period of time doing nothing, and now the belts feel like they are having a big difference in resistance during manual moves. there seem to be spots where the resistance suddenly drops to half and then instantly have a small tight spot. I think it is where the belts stood wrapped around the pulleys for all that time, but not sure.
Anybody else had this happen?
BTW, this is not on my voron but on my brother's ratrig vcore3. Same system though, so I was just wondering if this happened to others as well? And more importantly, will this go away again?

My guess is once some heat is generated in the chamber the belts will relax to the natural position again.

He has printed several ASA parts since and one lasted 9 hours but it is not gone to its previous supple feel yet. Maybe it needs more time.
