RCF said it was going to release last YEAR. I don't understand why everyone gets so bent out of shape when LITERALLY, ALL people are asking for, is AN update. Not the release date, just. "Hey, this is official, we're still working on this, it still exists, here's where we are at. Waiting on parts, we've got about 20 pages left of the manual, Hoping by summer." THE END. But no one wants to appease the community. I'm sorry, Soon TM isn't acceptable. I love the Voron project and everything RCF has done, but I'm not drinking that kool-aid. 2 min announcement pin on discord from ANY member that RCF approves to post updates isn't a big ask.

And I can bet you that RCF regrets setting a definite date for the release. This is a hobby, everyone involved is spending their spare time on it that could be spent with other things like their own families, and in the end all the design files are going to be released free of charge.

Listen, I totally understand this is a hobby. 100%. I'm not pushing for anyone to forgo their families just to get something done. I'm just asking for INFORMATION. Personally, I need multi head multi machine in a large form factor asap, and that's been the way for the past year. I want to stay in the Voron ecosystem. But I also can't wait another year. I'm trying to make plans on whether I'm going ratrig v4, or if the Phoenix is THAT close that I can wait. But without any information, this is an incredibly difficult task. I'm only going to be able to house one of these beasts, and I'd rather it be the Voron.

People have suggested COUNTLESS times, when met with the "noone gets paid anything" response. We get it. MAKE A PATREON. There are COUNTLESS people who will join. $10 a month? for Monthly updates on the projects? Maybe some stl's to test print? You could get paid, AND have an internal Beta testing group. I know I'd be one of the first to sign up for that!

Can we get a Voron Patreon? Voron is gaining increasing popularity, and there IS money to be had in the development, and "seeing behind the scenes". etc. I think it would go a long way into, A) helping the dev team, and B) increasing the community interaction.

I'm not sure you grasp the nuance of "no one gets paid" - it isnt an ask for someone to go solve - it is a statement that this is what we do with our freetime by our own choice. Also... maybe we don't want to be bringing in big money to pay for people as employees? Do you have any idea what sort of drama, additional overhead, anxiety and grief that would cause? It is a hobby, it is not our jobs, and trying to tell us to make it our jobs isn't a solution. And inevitably a non-zero number of people will feel even more entitled to get stuff because they're paying for a patreon, which is just a drag.

We're still working on Phoenix. It still exists. Recently the SMF raffled off the one that is in Oxford, and in that stream there was a commitment by Doc to work with the winner to get the machine up to current version. That should be a strong indication that things have changed in the past year - but Doc and Steve also talked on that Stream some about the project path I believe. Might be worth a check.
Here's where we are at: Supply chain issues, people's time alignments, etc, have largely produced a delay in the desired schedule. We have beta builds in progress. It takes time to get parts and time to get time on machines. We've got about 99% of the manual left to put together. Still finalizing and error checking things like the BOM. Hoping this year but its done when it is done.

I think the issue primarily is that there isn't any of this info "officially" on the Discord pinned. There's no channel for Phoenix, I keep watch in Announcements, and there is nothing. This update here is MORE than enough for everyone. With 99% of the manual left to put together, it's clear we're much further than the "Soon TM" response everyone gives out in Discord. We're not soon. As you said, great if you get it out this year, but...those of us that have been around long enough know how much work remains hearing this update. Thank You!

How does someone get in this team? I am a CAD/CAM engineer with experience in manual writing. Your name suggests you are from NL or BE?

Well, I'm new to this Voron Phoenix, I actually stumble across the anticipated Phoenix researching a 3d printer with a 600mm x 600mm foot print. I looked at the 800 x 800 foot print and it is just too many issues with moving that size of a machine around. We have outgrown a resin printer and a 300mm x 300mm. So it's time to upgrade. Has anyone found more specific data on the build or even a beta build.?

Nothing of a date, not even a beta. Some things got delayed, nothing to do about it. If you need it urgently, I would suggest a Ratrig.

Thanks, I don't need it tomorrow, I've got another project to finish up before fall. The Voron Team has been going on about this new voron for more than a couple of years, gave one away, they have even taken them to the tech shows, and yet the community hasn't even seen a beta, cad, nothing but what you can see on YouTube. From what I have seen is it is now 4 motors for the gantry which suggests them even changed the electronics, it looks like they changed to the BIGTREETECH Kraken. However, the kraken motors are designed for (4) motors at 6A and the other (4) at 3A. I've been looking at the Max with its 10 motor outputs. As soon as I complete a step I'll start posting. I have to give ratrig a big , I don't think you can improve much on their web manual.

And the only time the team made a public beta (Stealthburner) it was a disaster...
