Because I am an idiot and managed to not only completely burnout all 8 caps on my Manta M8P as well as trash the drivers I'm keen to idiot check my wiring I've taken pics of what I've done so far (untidied) I'd appreciate any feedback on the egregious mistakes I've made thus far.

Ah yes just double checked jumpers are set for 24V. I should say I've not tidied up the wiring at this point just looking to confirm proof of concept so to speak.

I had this happen to a Manta Mp8 as well even with the wiring correct. I took it off and put an Octopus on and everything fired up.

I am not saying the M8p is a bad board but just sharing my experience with it. I do have a M5P on a V0 that works perfectly fine.

Yeah, there had to be something bad with first batches at least, power delivery completely blew. If it happens on 2 Mantas in a row (one bought, second as RMA replacmeent  ) it gets sus.

@MightyRaith do you have any other board to try? The wiring looks OK to me, but please don't take words from random stranger on the internet without formal education in electrical stuff as given. Always double-triple check or ask some certified professional.

I followed this guide to setup mine.

I did use Wagos for incoming power distribution from the wall plug to the SSR and the Power supply as well as ground distribution.

An item that companies like BTT (et al) do for cost control is to not have much in the way of circuit protection. (i.e., jumpers on both 12 and 24v fan voltage selection will fry it, not default to 12v).

I’m curious, did any of the fuses blow? For all the caps and drivers to fry, that’d take a fair bit of current from somewhere.
I don’t know if these boards are generally reverse-polarity protected, but if not, that could do it.

Just out of curiosity: Is there a point to supplying motor power separately, if the stepper drivers are jumpered to take board power (from what I can discern from the screenshots)? I don't know too much about electronics, but I understood the motor power connectors to be kept strictly separate from the rest of the board, to deliver 48V to the drivers only, if you want to drive HV stepper drivers. The wires to motor power shouldn't do any harm, but if they aren't adding anything, why have them?
