Is 300mm the cap for Trident LDO kits? (I need help finding LDO 350mm)

Greetings!
Im committing to building a Voron Triden and Id really like it to be something sourced from a US warehouse so I can avoid international logistics.
Sorry Siboor, your 350 is a really nice looking kit!

Since 350 plate is just something I'm stuck on, its been trouble finding many options out there.
I would like to consider LDO as an alternative, but all I see are 300mm kits.
Are there any sites out there that offer LDO kits in a 350mm package or is that not something that exists?
 
Yes, as far as I know 300 is it for LDO. The question to ask yourself is: why 350? Is there a project you need to print that requires a 350 bed?

TBH, I have been perfectly happy with my 250 Trident. I think I've run across maybe two or three parts since I built it that needed cutting up to fit on the bed. Of course, I'm not printing cosplay pieces or the like.
 
I have a P1s and its taken me 3 weeks just to barely put a dent in my hobby station re-model. Im about 2/3 with the first 3 foot section and still have another 9 feet to go for a wraparound workstation. Next is my garage, my office then my wife has her print list for her office bathrooms and other misc rooms in the house. Kitchen/laundry. Then we get to go outside and work on functional changes to the yard and garden. Bins, hydroponic grow stations, planters, light fixtures you name it...shucks I would like to do a Nintendo theme mailbox out front.

My Bambu P1S plate limits me on drawer and cabinet options and 90% of the time only printing one at a time for anything medium or larger. 300 would be better and 350 is going to open up larger things like adding some cool display items like large figurines to the basement lounge. A scale sized Mario and sonic would be freaking awesome!

I have plenty room to put a large format printer in the house, I know the heating of the chamber and bed will delay getting the print started on ABS and ASA for when I start to do outdoor, but if I get a print going that's going to take all day and night anyways...the extra time pre-heating is insignificant to me. If I have to put the thing in a heated grow tent or some other insulated chamber then Im willing. Ill have smaller sized machines eventually for the misc average prints. When the tech improves one day I can see myself going even larger. For now 300 on my next machine is a consolation price, I would rather aim for 350 if possible. Siboor or Formbot looking more and more like the one I will pick.

You would have to go elsewhere besides LDO for anything larger than 300mm as that is their limit. Siboor would be a great option with their 350mm kit!
 
Pre-heating does not really take that long. I think the default setting for heating the bed is like 60% but I have mine at 100% for over 5 years and its still going strong. I think 80c takes like 4 minutes to get up to temp. But I also have a pre-heat macro that heats the bed and turns on all the fans to circulate the air.
 
Been asking around the internet and seems like 300 it is for LDO. Such a bummer.
There are "high hat/top hat" extensions you can put on a Trident, but part of that is extending the Z-lead screws. You can get longer screws, but they tend to (or the Voron fear is that they will) bend/banana. One solution is to add short lead screws on top, joined with a coupler. Because you have to extend the frame and deal with the extended lead screws, I opted for a 2.4 350 (still a work in (some) progress). If I had built a machine before and had a lot of knowledge and experience, I might have been more open to extending a Trident.

SIDE NOTE: the Voron 2.4 is advertised as a "350 cubed" build area, but it's NOT. It's 350 XY, but only 330 Z. Still very nice, but just know the real details.

I know plenty of folks (as in even claudermilk replying) are very happy with <300. My deciding logic was, all that work and despite fun, pain!, and I'll get a small machine and KICK myself for not being able to go bigger, so go large is my advice. I'm not done yet (electronics to do - made a drawer for mine), but the moving gantry and extra belts of the 2.4 really aren't a dealbreaker. Extra work, but it's not super difficult. Of course, I haven't finished yet, so my advice could be worthless... anyway, good luck and ENJOY whatever path you take.
