Where to use Shaft Retaining Compound (Loctite 641) ?

Hello to all Voron enthusiasts,
I’ve slowly started the Voron 2.4 build, and I’m not entirely sure where to apply Shaft Retaining Compound (Loctite 641), which is on the list of recommended tools for the build (https://vorondesign.com/sourcing_guide, Voron Tools Tab).

The Build Manual doesn’t mention it anywhere, only thread lockers, which are a different type of chemical (I’m using Loctite 222 because the screws are small).

I assume 641 is meant for securing bearings, pulleys, etc., to the shafts, but as I said, the Voron assembly manual doesn’t mention it anywhere.

Does anyone have experience with where to use it and where to avoid it? 641 is removable, but only after heating to 250°C, so I’d prefer to avoid any mistakes.

Thanks for the advice!

The manual and official documentation all suggest using grub screws with Loctite 222 to secure your pulleys on the various D-shafts for motors and Z drives and whatnot.

Not sure how Loctite 641 made it into the sourcing guide, but I personally use it to mount the pulleys on the motor shafts for the gantry motors. Helps if you get everything aligned before applying, because the 641 sets pretty fast and as you said, it's hard to remove.

The locktite 641 is for the old voron v2.2 style shafts, or other similar situations. It's not needed anywhere in a stock, current version build.
